Continuing the Momentum: Leadership Updates at Wellness in Infrastructure

At Wellness in Infrastructure, our progress has always been driven by the dedication and collaboration of industry volunteers who believe in building a healthier future for the infrastructure sector. Over the past several years, our Working Group has grown into a strong and connected national network thanks to the leadership, commitment, and generosity of volunteers across the industry. As this work continues to evolve, we want to share an update to the Volunteer Working Group leadership that supports the next phase of collaboration across our sector.

Thanking Emily Trevaskis for Her Leadership

As part of this transition, we would first like to acknowledge the extraordinary contribution of Emily Trevaskis, who has served as Chair of the Working Group for more than three years.

Emily has played a pivotal role in establishing and growing the Working Group from its early foundations into the strong and collaborative national network it is today. Through her leadership, the group expanded its reach across the industry, strengthened connections between organisations, and helped elevate the conversation around psychosocial safety and wellbeing in infrastructure.

Throughout this time, Emily was supported by her outstanding Deputy Chair, Andrea Sargent. This powerful duo have been instrumental in guiding the Working Group’s progress. We are pleased that Andrea will continue in her current role as Deputy Chair, providing continuity and ongoing support to the Working Group.

Emily’s generosity of time, clarity of purpose, and ability to bring people together have shaped both the culture and impact of the Working Group. On behalf of everyone at Wellness in Infrastructure, we extend our sincere thanks to Emily for the many hours (and late nights) she has dedicated to building the foundations that will continue to support this work well into the future.

We are pleased that Emily will continue to contribute to Wellness in Infrastructure in other capacities.

Welcoming Laurice Temple as National Chair

We are delighted to welcome Laurice Temple as the new Chair of the National Working Group.

Laurice brings extensive experience across construction, organisational culture, and human-centred leadership. Through her work with the Ripple Affect Institute, she has championed wellbeing, positive psychology, and environments where both people and organisations can thrive.

She is widely recognised for her authenticity, courage, and ability to unite people around meaningful change, qualities that strongly align with the mission of Wellness in Infrastructure.

As National Chair, Laurice will help guide the next chapter of collaboration across our network, supporting evidence-informed action and capability building to uplift the wellbeing of white-collar construction workers across Australia.

Welcoming Liz Ellis as Victorian Chair

We are equally pleased to announce Liz Ellis as the new Chairperson for Victoria.

Liz brings significant experience in infrastructure delivery, stakeholder engagement, and operational leadership. Known for her ability to navigate complexity and build strong relationships across organisations, Liz will play an important role in supporting the ongoing work of the Working Group within Victoria and contributing to the broader national collaboration.

Andrea (Wellness in Infrastructure deputy chair) will continue as Deputy Chair, providing continuity and governance expertise across the Working Group. With deep capability in psychosocial safety, compliance, and sector collaboration, Andrea’s ongoing leadership helps ensure the group remains grounded in practical, operational frameworks that support national consistency.

Looking Ahead

With Laurice stepping into the national role, Liz supporting the Victorian Working Group, Andrea continuing as Deputy Chair, and the strong foundations established by Emily and the wider volunteer network, Wellness in Infrastructure enters its next phase with continued energy and momentum.

Together, this leadership team reflects the sector’s shared commitment to creating an infrastructure industry where wellbeing is embedded, visible, and championed at every level.
